Baptism

Baptism is a powerful symbol of what Jesus has done for us – dying on the cross, being buried, and rising again. As we go under the water, it represents being buried with Christ, and as we rise from the water, it signifies being raised with Him to new life (Romans 6:3–4). Through baptism, we publicly declare that our sins have been washed away and that we now belong to Jesus.

Baptism doesn’t make us Christians. We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ alone — not by our works or any ritual. Rather, baptism is an act of obedience and a public testimony of the salvation we’ve already received through faith in Him.

Getting baptised at LifeGate Church

Anyone who has placed their faith in Jesus and begun following Him is welcome to be baptised. There’s no minimum or maximum age, as long as the person understands the gospel and is seeking to live as a disciple of Jesus.

At LifeGate Church, we don’t baptise infants, but we hold child dedications for families who desire to raise their children in the ways of the Lord. If you were baptised as an infant and now wish to make a personal declaration of faith, we’d love to invite you to be baptised as a believer.
